Art gcse question 2025

Hi, i know its quite difficult to say and i know grade boundaries dont change much, but do you think this year art gcse grade boundaries will increase or decrease even if its by a mark. ive been aiming so hard for at least a grade 7 and we got back our marks and im on last years grade boundary for a 7. if it goes down im on a 7 but if it goes up im on a 6 which i really do not want.

No way of knowing with art, the bigger killer is moderation. When I did my GCSEs, so many of us got a grade (or 2) knocked down by moderation. If you have completed the exam already, try not to think about it until results day. Best of luck with the rest of your GCSEs :smile:

omgg I know this is from a while ago but I am so scared for the grade boundries in art bc idk theyre always so high, and i think my teahers predict us a bit too much so i hope the actual grades wont be underwhelming 😭 like some teachers have given out just marks in our school to people out of 96 bc the examiner will probably come and adjust it anyway when they come to review our work and decide the marks and they honestly arent sounding great (but maybe thats just our school lol)

how many marks did people get knocked down by on average? - i got 426 out of 480 which is a 9 by last years standards (the boundary was 403) so do you think that the moderators could take away enough marks to bring me down to an 8?

That’s an excellent score, well done! I’m not sure, but it definitely wasn’t by 23 marks so you’re probably fine.
