Hi there,

It’s great to hear that you’re considering studying Law in the UK.

Applications for undergraduate Law courses are made through UCAS, and the application window typically opens in September. For 2026 entry, you can find the key UCAS dates and deadlines here: https://www.ucas.com/advisers/guides-and-resources/adviser-news/news/ucas-dates-and-deadlines-2026-cycle

Make sure to give yourself plenty of time to write a strong personal statement. It helps to demonstrate your interest through things like:

Reading relevant books, journal articles, or legal news

Watching documentaries or listening to podcasts on legal topics

Taking a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) related to Law or critical thinking

No prior study of Law is required, so don’t worry if you haven’t taken it before.

When it comes to studying Law in the UK, courses vary by university. Most include core modules in areas like Criminal Law, Contract Law, and Constitutional Law, with the option to choose specialised modules in later years (e.g., Human Rights Law, Environmental Law, etc.). It’s a good idea to explore a few university websites and compare course structures to see what appeals to you.

You should also check if the course is accredited. For example, some degrees meet the academic requirements for becoming a barrister (Bar Standards Board recognition) or are tailored to prepare you for the Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE).
Another great feature to look out for is whether the university offers a Law Clinic or has opportunities for placements/internships, which are excellent for gaining practical experience.

If you'd like an example, here's a link to our Law degree at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), which includes details on modules, career paths, and more: https://www.ljmu.ac.uk/study/courses/undergraduates/2025/30578-law-llb-hons

Hope this helps, and best of luck with your future studies and application,

Megan (LJMU Rep)

Hi!

It’s great that you’re planning ahead for your legal studies. If you’re considering studying law in the UK, The University of Law (ULaw) is an excellent option. As one of the UK’s leading specialist providers of legal education, ULaw offers a practical, careers-focused approach that prepares students for success in the legal profession. It’s particularly popular among international students for its strong support services, direct application process, and multiple campus options across cities like London, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, and Nottingham.

Since you’re currently in Grade 11 (CBSE), you would apply in September 2025, during your final year, for entry in September 2026. ULaw allows you to apply directly without needing to go through UCAS, and you can find full details about how to apply here: https://www.law.ac.uk/study/application-and-enrolment/.

ULaw’s three-year LLB (Hons) Law degree does not require the LNAT, and the typical requirement for CBSE students is around 80–85% in Grade 12, depending on the course and location. The course provides a Qualifying Law Degree, meaning it covers all the foundational legal subjects needed to progress into further training or qualification as a solicitor or barrister. You can explore the course details, structure, and entry requirements here: https://www.law.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/law/llb-hons-law/.

With excellent employability support, pro bono opportunities, mooting competitions, and legal clinics, ULaw is a great choice for anyone serious about a legal career. All the best!
