Using an optical microscope, the student determined there was 15 cells in 0.004 mm³ of the 1 in 1000 dilution of the culture. Calculate the number of cells in 1cm³ of undiluted liquid culture. (2 marks)

it a diluted sample, 1/1000
15/0.004= 3750 cells per mm3
1cm3 = 1000 mm3
3750 * 1000 = 3750000 cells per cm3
This is a 1 in 1000 dilution, meaning the actual concentration is 1000× higher.
3750000*1000 = 3750000000 cells per cm3 in an undiluted liquid culture
