Why it’s happened, what’s the cause of that?!

Earlier I was laying in bed in my room and then I heard a big noise and water coming out of the ceiling in the living room, there is a big water leak in the ceiling, it’s was raining heavily this morning, could it be cause of that, I live in the third floor of my apartment complex..?!
