Can I still go to uni if my predicteds are low but actual grades high?

I’m doing bio, chem and English lit A levels right now (I’m in year 12.) Unfortunately I had an accident at the start of the year and had to spend most of the year in various hospitals and at home, and I missed most of the content that we’re supposed to learn :frown: my PA4s are starting tomorrow and as long as I pass, I can move onto the next year

I know I won’t perform well on the PA4s so I’m going to get low predicteds, which means all my dream unis are basically officially out of the question. I can’t go through clearing for good unis like UCL or queen Mary’s or whatever because there’s never any clearing for medicine. what do I do from here? is a gap year the only option? and if so, what am I supposed to do during that year??

Gap years can be excellent ways to build your work experience up. Even if it is low level work, it gives you experience in dealing with people. Look at what jobs are available and apply.
Also you can apply once you know your actual grades, which makes it more likely, if they are high enough, that you will get an offer rather than relying on predicteds (if they are lower). Good luck

Due to being in hospital, it should count as an extenuating circumstance on UCAS and you could get reduced offers or they will accept your low predicted. I don’t know a lot about it but there should be a lot of sources online
