Advice on uni and illness

Hi

I’m currently studying musical theatre level 3 extended and about to finish this year. I’ve applied for unis and stage schools for musical theatre but since January I’ve had post viral fatigue and I’ve been unable to dance and last through performances. I also had to cancel mostly all of my auditions except one I’m unsure whether I should go with that stage school next year or take a gap year for my health. Anyone have any advice??
A gap year to give yourself time to recover (or time to learn to better manage your symptoms) seems like a very sensible choice.

Pushing yourself too far now will only delay your recovery.

I agree with PQ, give yourself time to recover. Drama school is intense and very physically and mentally demanding, so you want to be well enough to really enjoy the experience.

Plus, it's not long to wait as the audition process for next year starts in the Autumn, mere months away, and is way less demanding than attending a course.

I wish you well.
