Do companies post apprenticeship Openings in the summer?

I am in year 13, i have been trying to secure an audit/ accounting Apprenticeship since September. I have managed to gain a space on the PWC flying start but the only thing deteriorating me from fully committing to it is that I’ll be 80k in debt. I was told that more companies open their apprenticeship applications in the summer for a September 2025 start, if anybody has more information about what companies tend to do that or anybody that has previously been in this situation has any advice i would greatly appreciate it.

thats probably not the case as application for 2025 have been long open since before new year so im not sure how many opportunities are going to be available in the summer . maybe for year 2026b,im not sure

The majority of apprenticeships have closed as candidates are being offered spaces for the September start but don’t give up hope, there will openings. Have you looked on the Gov website as well as LinkedIn? Would you consider deferring the Flying Start programme to give yourself longer to gain an apprenticeship? Also, would you consider a different area such as insurance? Good luck

Highly unlikely, have you considered taking a gap year and applying? I did that and got two offers.

i think the next apprenticeships that open will be 2026 start as the process is long to be done over the summer and start in september- i would suggest getting work expereince if you haven't got any and doing other things to strengthen ur application and checking a load of different websites for apprenticeships. Also apply to loads even if they aren't big firms. From what I know they usually open from like sept- nov for around an April start and then they open during feb-april for a september start. hope this helps and you secure one!

You’ll find employers with routine annual hiring have mostly completed their hiring. That being said, sometimes additional headcount approval means they have an additional last minute vacancy - though sometimes they fill those with unsuccessful candidates from initial hiring.

Regardless, you may still find the occasional vacancy well into August. Keep checking.
