Hi,
Just to confirm if anyone is reading this for the next cycle - taking the CASPer test earlier doesn't give you a scoring advantage.
The way it works is that CASPer scores are reported as quartiles relative to everyone who took the test for the same program cycle (4th being the highest) - so you're being compared to the full applicant pool regardless of when you sit the test.
The main practical reason to book early is just to have flexibility — if something goes wrong (tech issues, illness, life), you have time to reschedule. Most programs also have CASPer score submission deadlines tied to their own application deadlines, so you want to make sure your results are reported in time.
Worth double-checking the specific deadline for each program you're applying to on the Acuity Insight website, as they can vary.
Best of luck to anyone who takes the test.
