Which course are you looking to study here at Kent? 🎓️
•
Have you been able to visit both Kent and Leicester? What did you like or not like about each? Did you feel at home there?
•
The course- What are the entry requirements, do you like all of the compulsory modules, optional modules, how the course is taught, the assessment methods, the teaching terms etc?
•
Accommodation- What are the costs, does the accommodation fit your needs? I know you have said that the cost of living is important, but is there opportunities for part-time work around your studies, or are there any scholarships you could take advantage of? You can find out more about scholarships available at Kent here.
•
The campus- Is the campus a campus university or are the buildings and accommodation all spread over an area? Kent is a campus university and I find having everything you need all in one place really helpful, but some might like to travel/walk between their buildings.
•
Societies, social life, and opportunities to make friends- Kent has many societies so there really is something for everyone. Societies are a great way to make friends, and although you said you are worried that you won't know anyone at Kent, I didn't either, and I've made friends for life! I've made friends through my course and through societies too. Are there opportunities to do something different when having downtime from uni work- Kent has a few cafes and places to eat on campus, and lots of green spaces too, so provides a nice space for students to relax when they need a break. Canterbury city centre is also a short bus or car ride away, which has lots of shops, places to eat, and things to do too.
•
Graduate prospects or links to industry- Are you looking to go into a certain career, or would you like to do a placement year, or year abroad- does the course allow for this?

What are the support services like? Including student wellbeing support, and financial support. I have had a really positive experience of Kent's Student Support and Wellbeing service, and have had an Inclusive Learning Plan set up as part of my studies for a condition I have. The employability service has been really good for me too. Kent also has Skills for Academic success service. I have also been part of a few panels through Kent Union, and the support and work that the Union and panels do to improve students experiences has been a pleasure to be part of. Kent also has support for the costs of living in addition to financial support. Students can access meal deals around campus, and can access the campus pantry too. Find out more here.
