Missing my firm offer by one grade?

I've firmed Exeter for History, where my offer is BBB. However, I'm worried that I'll achieve A*BC on results day. Because this technically misses the offer, would it be declined? The A* would be in History and the C in Biology if this makes any difference. I didn't know if this was something to email admissions about? I'm just worried about my Biology exams!

Don't over-worry. Unis are not always so rigid. You may check the acceptance grades:

Good luck.
It wouldn't meet the offer conditions, but as above, you may still be accepted regardless.

Not much to speak to admissions about at this stage, they can only tell you they'll review your results as compared to other candidates if they have space.

Hi Lala,

As above, it would depend on the uni and how much space is available on the course with everyone else who meets the exact offer. However if your C is in a non-essential subject whilst you get an A* in the subject you're doing, this will be taken into consideration too and may mean you are more likely to be accepted.

No guarantees on still being accepted after not quite meeting an offer, but each year most admissions teams do carefully consider close near misses and can indeed accept people if there is space.

I hope this helps and adds, best of luck and just do what you can do!
