Need Advice: Rejected Final Appeal at University of Greenwich – What Next?

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out here with the hope that someone who’s gone through something similar might be able to help or offer some perspective.

I’m an international student who was recently withdrawn from the University of Greenwich due to low attendance. I had struggled with a chronic medical condition (Hidradenitis Suppurativa) and the mental health issues that came with it anxiety, depression, social withdrawal which made regular attendance really difficult over the past couple of years.

Despite this, I remained academically engaged. I submitted all my assignments, worked on group coursework, and had passed my modules this year, except for two exams I missed because I was withdrawn before I could take them.

I submitted an initial appeal with some medical evidence, but it was rejected. Then I submitted a Final Review with much more detailed and updated medical letters from multiple doctors and psychiatrists, outlining both my physical and mental health conditions, treatment timelines, and how they impacted my attendance. I was honest and transparent throughout.

Unfortunately, my Final Review was also rejected, saying that:
The new evidence didn’t sufficiently explain the absences.
My explanations for not submitting earlier evidence weren’t strong enough.
They questioned the consistency of some documents.

Now, I’ve received my Completion of Procedures (COP) letter and I’m considering taking my case to the Office of the Independent Adjudicator (OIA). But I’m unsure whether to proceed with the OIA or explore credit transfer to another university and start fresh. I don’t want to lose another year or jeopardize my visa situation.

Has anyone here gone through something similar?
Have you appealed to the OIA, and did it help?
Did anyone manage to transfer universities with a similar background?
Would it be better to move on and start afresh elsewhere?

Any insight or advice would really mean a lot. I’ve put in so much effort despite all my challenges, and it’s been overwhelming navigating all of this on my own.

Thanks in advance.
