uni of sheff offer chance?

so i applied to biomed science at sheffield and got rejected! very sad about this as it is the only uni i’m interested in.

for reference i am on a gap year so i already achieved my grades, i did not do a-levels but another qualification and i did call them prior to applying and they advised me that they do accept the qualification , i am also a grade below but do qualify for the contextual (i suppose?) and knowing all that they advised me to apply anyway (probably where i got my hopes up)
anyway they rejected me and now i am wondering would there be any chance that i do end up getting an offer from clearing? i have no idea how it works or if there’s any point to be hopeful but i did want to see if anyone has had a successful application similarly to me

Clearing happens if they don't have enough people to fill the course. Not all courses go into clearing. No one can possible predict if that course will go into clearing.

And, if they turned you down because of your achieved qualifications, they won't change their minds about this at Clearing. Move on. Look at other Universities.

A lot of courses in clearing will accept maybe one grade less, so that isn’t necessarily an issue. They want to fill their course quickly by then. But as to whether that particular course will be in clearing is anybody’s guess. Maybe make a list of three or four universities /courses that you would consider and then look out for them at 8am on results/clearing day. Some of them may even have info the day before as to which of their courses are likely to be clearing. Worst case re-apply for next year, including both Sheffield and some others and then earn some money /get some work experience in the meantime.

What do you mean by you "suppose" you qualify for a contextual offer? Do your achieved grades meet those needed for a contextual offer?
