Hi @tiger2025

If you love a subject it makes sense to go with what you enjoy, plus it sounds like you are definitely good at if you are getting 8/9s! If you enjoy something you are more likely to do well in that subject.

You could always do a mix of those subjects you have suggested, for example I studied English combined, politics and textiles. I just chose what I was interested in and a bit of a range of subjects to keep my options open.

Does the college or sixth form you are going to allow you to start with 4 a levels and the drop one? This is good if you are not sure as you can try 4 and then decide on your final 3 a few moths in. I did psychology and then dropped it a few months in.

If you have any questions, maybe even about English combined as it might be similar to English lit I am happy to answer

I absolutely love english lit a level although it's very challenging. It is quite a jump from gcse and theres a lot of wider reading but although i was sceptical at first, i really enjoy the wider reading we're set. I'd say if you love English, take it, although be warned that it is hard and it will be stressful (tho i can say that about all a levels).
Ik it's early for you but do you have any ideas for post 6th form education??
My school is very firm against maths+fm unless applying for maths, econ, comp sci, engineering or physics, otherwise they say dont take it as it's pretty intense (tho we're not allowed to take maths, fm and just one other subject- we must take 4 subjects) and a couple of my friends take it and agree so maybe that could be smth to think abt.
I do know of a couple people (2 in my english class actually) who take maths, fm, physics and english and 1 who has now dropped english but taked maths, fm, physics and rs so the combinatikn seems pretty good.
What texts would you be doing if you study english lit??
