Anyone else finding it hard to stay motivated during online courses?

Hey everyone,

I am currently doing an online Generative AI module as part of my computer science degree. I have to be honest, I have found it quite difficult to stay on up with it and stay motivated. I was super excited at the start because AI is such a big area at the moment, but now I am struggling to keep up with content, especially when there isn't any in person support and discussions.

Has anyone else found online uni modules or self-paced learning difficult and experienced the same feelings? How do you stay on track when you are studying alone? I have been trying to keep to a schedule and regular breaks, but studying alone is still quite isolating and it is a little hard to maintain discipline.

Also, if anyone is doing the same or similar course, how are you finding the assignments and the material? I would really love to connect, or even form a small study group, if anyone is interested.

I would really appreciate tips, or just even knowing I'm not the only one this way!

Thanks

You just have to start doing the work. Thats all there is to it.

My entire degree has been done with a remote uni and most days I don't feel as though I have motivation, nor am I really a disciplined person - I just start it and before I know it I have done quite a lot of work and my day is over.

Its mostly just getting over the initial hump that is starting the work. I think its fine to take a week off if you need it.

In many ways I feel like a hermit wizard - recluse and learning spells, ready to one day go back to civilisation with a new arsenal of tricks. I just trust the process.

I agree with the above, just force yourself to start the work/studys and you should find you're doing okay.
