You are able to request that the university change your offer into a deferred offer, by contacting them directly. However, they are not obliged to honour the request.

Hi Kadsss,

I did some digging & found that you can request the university to change the application into a deferred one. What university have you applied for so I can further look into this for you?

Just email the Uni and ask.
At this point its usually very straightforward - its can often get far more difficult later, and on/after Results Day, some Unis will simply say No.
