Will I be able to apply to AAB and A/BBB unis for chemistry if a level grades are AAC

I just recently sat my A-level economics paper 2 exam. I feel like It didn't go very well...or maybe It was quite bad. For my paper 3, I expect it to be stronger. However, the maximum grade I would be able to get is a C, this was because i picked a bad essay choice for paper 2. I do expect to get A's in chemistry and biology and the lowest B's. I want to apply for chemistry BSc or MChem, but i don't want to apply to those unis with requirements like BCC or BBC, that would be a waste of my A's. Which universities would be the best to apply for? would I be able to get into the Russell Group or top universities? I don't mind a foundation year. I need to get this out of my mind so I don't stress over it with my upcoming exams.

Hi Kyle,

totally understandable that you're feeling anxious- First off, try not to be too hard on yourself about Paper 2. It might have gone better than you think (it’s easy to overthink these things), and doing well in Paper 3 can still really help balance things out. It’s also great that you're expecting strong grades in Chemistry and Biology! (:

If you’re unsure whether your results would be considered for certain universities, the best thing you can do is reach out directly to the admissions departments of the unis you’re considering. (You’ll usually find an email or phone number on their websites). They can give advice based on your specific circumstances and let you know if they would still consider your application- including whether a foundation year might be a route in.

I would do this once you've recived your results, That way you know exactly what you have and also when your filling out UCAS, you won’t waste any of your choices on courses that arent realistic and also you might be pleseantly surpirsed on the routes avaible onto courses! 😊

Hope this helps, goodluck!! (:
