I want do physiotherapy at university of nottingham

I am currently in year 12 and i study 2 btecs. Health and social care diploma and sport extended certificate. I have been doing my first year exams and they havent been so great. I was previously indicated that i could get a DDM but now it may be a DMM which is 112 ucas points, uni of notts require 120 . I really want to go to uni of notts as they football programme for women is very good. For context i play tier 3 womens football and want to study and play, and i think university of nottingham is the best place. I REALLY DO NOT want to do a foundation year. Will they give me a offer with the points i could get?

Unis often give out the standard offer to students with predicted grades that fall a bit below the requirement on the assumption that grades will improve by exams/final assessments. However, to ensure your place on the course, you would need to achieve those grades. There might be some wiggle room on results day but that will depend on if there are places to fill once they have taken all the applicants who have met their grades.

Physiotherapy is a highly competitive course that also requires an interview, they generally do not need to lower their offers to get candidates.

Ps if you go to the ucas website ( see link )you will see the grade range offered in previous years to a level and btec candidates https://digital.ucas.com/coursedisplay/courses/5369cfb6-a7b8-b49a-3846-95d16a1161ff?academicYearId=2025

Hey there,

My name is Siobhan and I’m a third-year physiotherapy student the University of Central Lancashire. It’s great to hear that you are wanting to do Physiotherapy and I remember applying for Nottingham too in year 12 for the course. Unfortunately, the course is extremely competitive and therefore they may be quite strict with the entry requirements, and you most likely need to meet the set criteria. However, I would get in touch with the university if you can and see if you can discuss this in more detail with a lecturer or advisor.

I would also recommend getting your personal statement up to scratch as this will be the first line of your application that uni’s will look at. Make sure you can get all your transferable skills and experience on there to impress the uni. This will help you get through to the interview stage where you can expand on your passion for the course and football!!

Good luck with your application and if you have any questions just let me know😊

I do 3 A-level subjects and they gave me a reduced offer for physiotherapy so it’s possible.
