Are Post Grads Commutable?

Hi,
I'm currently narrowing down my masters options and i was wondering if anyone has much to say about "Masters of Public Administration" at York.

How Often are you in lectures etc?
Would it be Commutable from home which is about an hour away?
or do you recommend staying in York, if so where are the cheapest best places to live?

Hi

How's it going? I'm glad to see you're considering York. We have lots of postgraduate students who also commute to study. I'd say commuting students often travel by train to York train station and then catch the U1/U2 bus to the University campus, as they're very regular and often run every 15 minutes. You can find out more about your options for commuting and the support available here.

As for your expected contact hours, I'd recommend getting in touch with the Politics Department Admissions Team. They should be able to give you a good idea of what you can expect. Their email address is:

On the other hand, if you're interested in living in York, we actually have a dedicated college specifically for postgraduate students: Wentworth College. There's a variety of accommodation available in Wentworth, which would allow you to live on our beautiful campus and be close to all your classes. You can find out more about pricing and what's available here. Otherwise, there is plenty of third-party housing available around York that postgraduates make use of. You can find out more about that here.

Finally, for all your questions I recommend you have a chat with one of our students. You can do so on our website and they'd be more than happy to share their experience with you. We also have an upcoming Postgraduate Online Open Day on Thursday 10 June. I'd strongly recommend signing up as that will give you a great idea of whether York will be right for you!

I hope that helps! Let me know if there's anything else I can help with.

Sam
