Clinical Psychology or Pharmacy?

Hi! (I am from Northern Ireland, just incase anyone tries to recommend me other universities etc)

So, recently i’ve been debating to switch ideas towards my future careers because i’ve always wanted to do Pharmacy, although the Entry Requirements for the university i want to go to for Pharmacy is quite difficult, and i find doing my Double Award sciences is quite tricky, especially which the recent gcses i’ve completed. I’m also worried about my A levels because of the fact that for Pharmacy, i need to complete a Biology and Chemistry A level, which would be difficult for me because from what i’ve heard, Chemistry A level consists of a lot of maths, which i’m not the best at.

Similarly, for Psychology, i’ve always had a massive interest in Biology and the whole aspect of brains, stuff like that. I want to do Psychology for A level also, and if I do pick that, i’d do Biology A level with it because both of those A levels really interest me. Although, the difficulties that come along with the studying towards being a Clinical Psychologist scares me a tiny bit due to the effort that goes into trying to be one. I’d be open to here much more information about being a Clinical Psychologist.

Both of them offer a good salary, and good holiday breaks, along with paid breaks. They seem like great jobs that i would love to do, just worried about the qualifications and would love some help to decide what my target career is.

Useful reading :
Clinical psychologist job profile | Prospects.ac.uk - this is a tough career path, and there are numerous other ways of working in this area - or in other career areas - where an understanding of Psychology is useful. Most Psych grads end up working in non-psych jobs and its therefore a very useful, enabling degree.

Pharmacy focusses on Chemistry. Its a vital A level subject and it you don't enjoy the idea of 'applied chemistry' its probably not the best career area for you - Choosing between Pharmacy and Pharmacology

There are hundreds of Biology-related degree areas, and its worth look at the range of different degree and career areas :
Biological and Biomedical Sciences | Subjects | Courses | University of Liverpool
Undergraduate degrees in biology - Department of Biology, University of York

For clinical psychology you really just need a science subject (usually biology or psychology) and maths will be very useful because of all the stats you will need to learn during undergrad for research. I don't think chemistry is a really compulsory subject for psychology, I would prioritize biology psychology and math more. You could do chemistry as a 4th a level subject tho

Thank you that’s great, although i’m not the best at maths, and i won’t continue it for A level, could i still do a Psychology career without it and is there anything you reccomend?
