Advanced highers for chemistry degree

Hi,
I was planning on taking advanced higher maths, biology and chemistry along with a foundation apprenticeship in scientific technology next year because I'm interested in doing a chemistry or a pharmacology degree. Unfortunately I've been told I'm unable to take advanced higher maths as it clashes with my foundation apprenticeship. I was wondering if advanced higher maths is necessary/recommended for what I'm interested in studying. My maths teacher suggested I take higher apps instead however I'm not sure how useful this would be as I'm sitting higher maths this year. Advanced higher physics is also an option I could take although I think maths would be better for what I want to study.
I'd really appreciate any advice on what to choose for s6.
Thanks for reading

A look at the University of Edinburgh and the University of Glasgow's entry requirements for their chemistry degrees shows that Higher Chemistry and Maths are needed and that if you take Advanced Highers that Chemistry and Maths are preferred (and needed if you'd like 2nd year entry).

Based on this, I would recommend taking Advanced Higher Maths since you have the option. Although I understand that the Foundation Apprenticeship would gain you relevant and useful experience in the field, it seems that having a good knowledge of maths is seen as extremely important to these universities.

I hope this helps, and if you have any more questions, feel free to ask me. 😊
