BN(O) visa University Admission

There is a cap for international applications in Medicine. For a student with BN(O) visa studying in local state school and apply UCAS through the local school, will he/she be considered under the international route subject to the cap or should be considered the same as home student?

If you pay international fees you are international. If in doubt message the university and they will give a better answer!

Honestly hate how this is especially with the white paper now, especially when I would’ve been here for 5 years by September 2026 but apparently it’s not enough now.

Uni local fee status generally requires (1) indefinite leave to remain, i.e. permanent residence status, and (2) resident the UK 3 years before course starts. Someone said the 3-year period start on the date gaining ILR, so you may need to wait for another 3 years after ILR. Better check yourself.
Look on the UKCISA website for details about the categories of students eligible for home fees.

If your situation is complicated then contact their student advice line.

BNO is usually included in UK fee status - if you "have a permanent right to live in the UK and you have lived for three full years immediately before the first day of your course" in a BNO territory (or the UK).
