Stop using it. Right now. You can ask it questions but do not ask it to write plans, essays or complete homework assignments for you. Start writing them yourself now, providing you are not sitting you exams this summer, there will still be time.

is it truly "your" work when you make chatgpt do it? do you take pride in the grades you get, knowing full well it came from only your work only? thus qualifying it to be a product of your effort only? or do you want to make excuses for yourself, saying "i made the prompt, thus its my work"? its 99.99999% product of everything humanity produced, and a very tiny amount, less than a drop in the ocean, you.

Yes that's exactly what I needed to hear. I'm so mad I even discovered it in the first place.

It's okay don't feel guilty it's human nature to be a bit lazy when you don't want to do something but cold turkey might be a good plan!

I think you've already had good replies above but I will just add this (which I saw in a commentary piece recently):
"Would you ask a robot to go lift weights at the gym for you?"

The answer is obviously not. So, why would you outsource your brain, and your development of critical thinking skills, to a machine?

It won't be easy to give it up... but it'll never be easier than it is today.

Like others have said, using it defeats the purpose of your work.
