Changing my firm and insurance choices …

I currently have Durham as my firm choice and Exeter as my insurance on UCAS. Durham is fine with me switching, so I’ve been trying to contact Exeter to see if they’d be willing to accept me as my firm choice instead.

I emailed them three days ago but haven’t received a response so I’m wondering if I might have used the wrong contact details.

Does anyone know the best way to reach the right admissions team at Exeter for this kind of request? Also, are they usually strict about allowing swaps like this? I really feel Exeter is the right place for me.
Have you spoken to UCAS yet?

Most universities give UCAS blanket agreement to all reply swaps so it’s rare to need agreement from the universities individually

Yes. I spoke to UCAS - they have the okay from Durham but need it for/from Exeter.

In that case 3 days isn’t very long to wait. Especially when you consider that bank holidays often mean staff are on annual leave.

Wait until Tuesday and then ring them to ask if they received your email and when you should expect a response.

I’ve never known a university refuse a reply swap (which is why it’s ridiculous that some universities haven’t given blanket agreement to UCAS).

Thank you very much.
I will definitely follow up on Tuesday.

Hi Anonymous!

I would co-sign the suggestion made by PQ in waiting until Tuesday for a response and then calling in the event you haven't yet heard back! I even forgot that it was Bank Holiday weekend 😂 I also haven't heard of a refusal happening, but I would strongly encourage you to wait for a response back!
