msc in finance and economics or msc in process systems engineering

BEng ChemEng graduate at Nottingham, I want to focus on something that will improve my employability. Not bothered about whether working in finance or engineering and looking to go to the University of Surrey for either of the MSc. Any advice will be greatly appreciated

Hi jhin12342,

Firstly, is your undergraduate degree accepted by the University of Surrey as a relevant degree for finance and economics MSc? If you're not sure I would first of all speak to their admissions department to ensure that it is accepted, it should also state this on the course information for each of the MSc degrees on the university website. Is there a specific area of finance or engineering that you would like to work in? If so, which course would support this best? Thinking about it that way may be able to help you decide. Also, have you spoken to a careers adviser? Either at the University of Nottingham, or perhaps you could attend a Postgraduate Open Day at the University of Surrey and speak to the careers advisers during the visit, they will have lots of information about the degree requirements and may be able to talk you through some suggestions about which course would be best for you. In addition to this, there are lots of careers web sites that offer advice, Prospects is a really good one - https://www.prospects.ac.uk/careers-advice.
Also, there is the National Careers Service https://nationalcareers.service.gov.uk/careers-advice are two possible sites.

I hope this helps, good luck with your study,
Jess
