Sheffield Uni Accom
Hey I've got an offer for Sheffield this year and have gone on to apply for accommodation and there is only 21+ options and part catered. Are there any more releases of rooms or is that it? I think I have heard someone say it is released in waves but that may be for a different uni. Im looking to get a room in Endcliffe. Any recommendations? I like going out and am sociable. Also any advice on web profiles? Thanks!

Hi! I don’t have an answer but I just wanted to say I’m in the same boat. You heard right and they do release them in waves but I’m not sure if there’s anymore accomodation being released before self selection ends or if they’ve all been booked or been taken down? They had a lot of ranmoor rooms available for a while and I saw some Endcliffe accom come and go, as I’ve been looking at the self selection since April because I was waiting for some specific Endcliffe ones. I did read that apparently not all accomodation is available because they reserve some for older years, but hopefully they still release some in the next few weeks? Hope you get an answer from someone soon

Congrats on your offer to study here! Yes so with accommodation it is released in waves, when I was booking halls for first year people were checking the portal regularly as the places would fill up quickly once released. There will hopefully be more rooms released in Endcliffe, although it's usually in more demand as it is more popular. I would definitely recommend getting in touch via this page: https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/accommodation as they will offer more details about when remaining accommodation will be released.
In terms of web profiles, I mainly used facebook and unifi to meet people and to find my flatmates online as well after results day. So I would definitely recommend getting accounts there and joining any relevant groups, including for your course and accommodation block.
