What subjects should I take to study HSPS at Cambridge

I’m currently in S5 taking higher English, art, modern studies, geography and mathematics where I’m predicted AAAAB, and I need a minimum of A1A2A2 at advanced highers.

For S6 I have chose AH maths, H politics, psychology and physics (which im switching as I took it as a filler). I’m unsure which advanced highers im should take as my school doesn’t offer AH modern which I really wanted to do, which leaves me with AH art (which doesn’t link to what I wanna do), maths- which I actually quite enjoy but I’m scared of doing worse, AH English (although I have never felt super confident and the teacher isn’t meant to be brilliant) and AH geography.
Would anyone have any subject options which they would recommend?

English, history and/or a language are all recommended for a strong application so would make your application more competitive as options.
Cambridge recommends you take 2 of English, history, a language and maths for essay based degrees so maths and English are good ideas if you think you can manage with them as subjects. Note that this guidance is for a level students, not sure how it applies to highers tbh.
Best advice is to choose subjects youll enjoy and be good at then hope theres a reputable degree of interest which they lead you to!

Thankkk you, English and maths are my best bet tbh. I’m interested in taking history although I’ve never heard of anyone being able to crash an advanced higher, although I received the top grades in my year for modern/geography last year so idk if that would change anything!

Both asking you school I'd say! History (in my experience) is one of those subjects where you don't need that much prior knowledge, just essay type skills which you'll have gotten from modern and geog
