i am applying throught ucas extra due to extenuing circumstances i have put this in my PS and the course i want to apply for isnt on ucas extra (beng) but (meng) is on ucas should i contact the university and explain my situation?

Usually yes, it’s best to contact the relevant admissions teams and check whether they have a method of submitting mitigating circumstances along with an application. It can be missed in a PS.

The difference in the available courses in Extra may be down to the M course having higher entry requirements - check carefully, and phone the Uni if this isnt obvious and find our why the B course isnt in Extra.
As above, ask your referee to include info about your circumastances, and the impact its had on your studies, in their reference, but also make sure that the Uni doesnt also want a specific form completed - always contact the Uni to check.
