Paper 1 Maths 😭-> 💀

P1 Maths didn't go so well for me and I normally get an 8 in Maths:frown:

Does anyone know wht mark I would need on the remaining two papers to get a 9 if I got like low on P1, lets say 50 (coming from a grd 8 student).

I dunno wht happened...

What exam board and what type of GCSE?

It depends on the grade boundaries in August which we can’t fully accurately predict right now.

Well last years grade boundaries u needed 69 so 70 on each paper to get a 9 and lets say I got 50 would tht mean I need to get full marks 😭 on both papers. and papers easier people found this year so grade boundaries r higher= impossible to get 9 now

Depends on the grade boundaries still. I would just do your best then hope that the grade boundaries in August work in your favour.

You can’t really predict grade boundaries that accurately in my opinion.

You just have to get the total mark needed - you don't need a certain mark on each paper.

I know but I think I got low so Im just wondering If its still possible for me to get a 9 as maths is only subject im good at. Last year you needed 210 marks out of 240 to get 9, so that means at least 70 out of 80 on each paper but I think I only got like 50 on p1.

No-one knows how many you will need to get a grade 9 - just do your best on the remaining papers :smile:

I don't know what exam board u are doing, I took the average of OCR, AQA and Edexcel's grade boundaries last year, if you want a 9 then 85%, if 8 then 70%. I think u have a big opportunity to get an 8, u need at least 60 per paper for 8. And for 9, I need over 96% for both paper, 77/80. Don't worry to much about that, grade boundaries how students across the country performed overall, in simple term, you did bad, everyone did bad, grade boundaries will be lower.
