Open university?

I work 30 hours a week 8am-3pm at a school. I want to study with the open university doing English Literature and Art history- I want to do this full time. Looking for someone with similar situation or anyone with advice. Dropping a day at work would be fine but I'm stressing about how many hours I'm going to have to put in every week, I also do half term weeks which I could spend more hours on studying.

Summary:
Advice on working full time and studying full?
How many hours realistically would I have to put in?
Any other advice?

i assume you are speaking about the OU BA (Honours) Arts and Humanities (English Literature) Degree. i have done something similar working full time and studying full time. it was not as bad as I thought but some parts of life suffered such as socialising etc. planning is key. the modules get progressively more difficult but too bad in the first two years. you will be eased in which is great if you are overwhelmed and need some time to calibrate yourself. i would get into good habits early I..e basic things like knowing your way around the online modules, guides, external resources, library etc. so you can jump in and out of the study easily and less stressful. i put in approx. 2-4 hours a day every day which can get a bit too much but I would make sure I took some time after finishing my job to unwind, cook, eat and do something I liked even if that was just a walk. my other advice is to speak to tutors as soon as you think you may struggle with something. if you give them a bit of time then some concessions can be made. other than that, get ahead with good habits and it should be fine. hope that helps and good luck!
