What you are doing here is no different- you're making an unfalsifiable thesis. No matter what the outcome, you can now make a tangential point that you predicted the outcome. Terrorism? People claim they were right all along - so you claim you were right all along about them. Not terrorism? People claim a coverup - so you can claim you were right all along about them. The difference is that the former is about the subject matter. The latter is about your secondary narrative.

I'm not making a prediction though, that's the difference. I didn't look at this case and immediately think 'Terrorism!', 'Alcohol and drugs!', 'Panicking driver!', etc, then get hung up over whether my preconceived biases were true or false. My initial reaction was 'I don't know' so I waited until further evidence was discovered or revealed by the police.

There's no "narrative" to that, it's just a sensible way to respond to a situation. Immatiately jumping to conclusions isn't; it's funny that you recognise this and you're only defense is 'you do this too!', which is false.

There are several things going on, and it isn't being helped by the spread of misinformation by some members.
A male has been arrested for both attempted murder and a road traffic offence - most likely s.4 RTA - driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs. What has almost certainly happened here is that at the scene, someone believed to be the driver was identified and had to be arrested for something. At that time, it wasn't known if anyone was dead and motor vehicle assault offences are not commonly known to most police officers - so a decision was made to arrest the driver for something - anything - and that is why unfit through drink/drugs may have been used to get him to custody/hospital. It's probably subsequent to this that he was further arrested for attempted murder.
These are extremely unusual circumstances to say the least, and a charging decision in the next few hours will probably reveal what has happened. I would be very confident that the driving whilst unfit will go away completely. If he is charged with attempted murder, then the idea that this is not terrorism is going to require a great deal of explanation.

Nailed it. No attempted murder, no drug drive.

Surely you know why. Hardly anyone gets charged with attempted murder because it puts the prosecutor in a box and is so hard to prove if they go not guilty. CPS will always want to go with GBH/Wounding w/intent because it's easy (or rather its easier on the facts).

Spectacularly badly handled from start to finish in terms of communications. Rushed to rule out terrorism - why? How could that have been known in that timeframe? Song and dance about the drug drive issue - wht not just keep quiet about that? Releasing suspect ethnicity immediately and letting the media turn that into a the main issue . Like that's not going to cause a problem for every police force in the country immediately. If you want racial discord, you've just presented an unlimited number of open goals.

The police didn't 'rush to rule out terrorism', they said they weren't treating it as a terrorism-related incident 5 hours after their investigation began. It's not unreasonable for them to say this when 1) they arrested the suspect immediately and 2) no evidence linking the incident to terrorism was discovered.

There was no "song and dance" about drug driving, it was one of three grounds the police had reason to arrest the suspect. It's perfectly fine for them to drop this if no evidence of drug driving was discovered. You can thank last year's far right clowns for why the police released the suspect's ethnicity.

So I can't see how this has been handled badly...?

Can you evidence how the media made this "the main issue" ?
From the coverage I was looking at, the main issue was understanding what had happened and whether everyone was alright.
7 are still in hospital

You have grasped at an impressive number of straws in this post. There was plainly nothing wrong with how the police handled this.
