Can I get into a MPharm course at university with art as my third subject ?

I’m a year 12 student and currently writing my ucas application, I’ve been trying to search online but I can’t seem to find a straight forward answer. Currently I take Chemistry (A) Maths (A*) and Art (A) A-levels so I technically meet the entry requirements but I was wondering if anyone knows if I have a good enough chance of an acceptance with these qualifications?

You definitely do!! You’ve got both chem and maths so you already meet the entry requirements so it doesn’t really matter what your third subject is and you’re already at A*AA so I’m pretty sure you’ve got a good chance for an offer

No worriesss 🤍🤍 but don’t forget that you’ve gotta do interviews before getting accepted!! But they’re not too stressful
Very short answer, yes, absolutely.

If uni's don't specify a third, (or even second), essential subject then there isn't a secret list of preferred subjects that they use to screen candidates.

Hi there,

Yes, you’ll be absolutely fine to apply for MPharm with these subjects. For example, based on our entry requirements, you’ll need one A Level in Chemistry or Biology and a second A Level in one of the following: Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Maths or Psychology, and the third can be in any subject https://www.ljmu.ac.uk/study/courses/undergraduates/2025/35577-pharmacy-mpharm#EntryRequirements

Hope that provides some reassurance and good luck with your university applications 🙂

For maths it’s was ALL past paper questions, savemyexams was very helpful. Chemistry I looked over my notes and practiced mechanisms on my whiteboard x
