Pharmacy MPharm (with Preparatory Year) at Kingston University - Requirements?

Hiya! I'm interested in doing this course, but I do unrelated alvl subjects such as English lit, psychology and sociology. What would be the grade requirements for this course, considering I don't do chemistry and my GCSE grades are satisfactory? Would I have to take chemistry, in order for me to get onto the course, or are there any other alternative options?

Hi @sunflowersamurai

Great to hear you are interested in studying at Kingston!

For A-levels the grade requirements for 2026 are a grade profile of at least CDD–CCD which includes one science subject and I would assume they will be similar for 2027.

So yes I think would need to take chemistry or another science subject. Considering you will be doing a chemistry and biology module in your first year it would make it much easier having some prior knowledge.

I hope this helps

Hiya I have emailed already but didn’t really understand but, I want to entry into this course through clearing as i am not keen on my current course options. Would I be considered, should places become available.
My predicted grades are as follows:

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Applied Science: Distinction

Welsh Baccalaureate: Grade B

A Level English Language and Literature: Grade C

Thanks. 🙂

Best advise is to take chemistry alevel as a separate alevel, most if not all require alevel chemistry.

Thank you so much,

I’m planning on calling clearing tomorrow. As i’ve already picked a firm and insurance choice, though i'm willing to decline if im guarantied a space, what would I need to tell them?

Many thanks 🙂

Hi,

Have you already called them? How did it go?

If not I think you would just need to let them know what course you have applied for and what you think your grades might be.

I hope it helps
