hey, in yr 12 currently and wondering jf i got a shot
gcses - 999887777 (lowkey ass and kind of worried about that) predicteds - a* a* a* ucat - aiming for 2500+ (its now out of 2700) and b1
4 weeks of clinical internship many online internships/pbl learning courses
someone pls help - any advice to strengthen my app is also very much appreciated ^

icl for kcl especially they rank top 8 GCSEs based on how many A* that might set u back but other application parts look good. Personally you have a much better chance going for unis that don’t rank your GCSEs like

but do you think that a high ucat could overtake that? because i have a friend in the yr above who got similar gcses to me 9988887777 and 3070 b1 and she got in! so i was just wondering

yes, also you should do stuff like research projects or academic competitions to demonstrate your love for medicine, this could potentially make up for poor gcses but I'm not an expert on the kcl medicine admissions process. Best thing to do would be to call them up

i reached out to the admissions team by email a couple weeks ago but still nothing. so basically i have done 4 weeks of clinical internships in the er and 14 weeks of NHS supported research internships (mix of research and pbl courses). i am also doing an epq based on medicine as well. do u think my chances are still ok to make up for tje gcses?

oh yh fine haha, it'll def be worth it trust me. But yh, doing like competitions and maybe like a crest award or something to show like achievement

i have done the biology and chemistry olympiads - i just looked into the crest award and looks very interesting! i think ill try it out but im not sure ill get time, this summer im kind of dedicating to ucat so ill try still

Yeah of course your ucat is basically the sole determinant if your getting in if you get 2200+ go for it
