When to prepare for STEP/TMUA/AEA/MAT?

I'm currently a year 11 student, I'm currently looking at the course I want to do at uni (Bsc/Msci in Mathematics with Economics) most Unis e.g UCL, LSE, Imperial etc require to take one of these Maths entry exams above. Do I start preparing in year 12 summer? Or during half terms (in year 12)?

I'm in year 12 doing the TSA, but my school has given everyone taking admission tests the same advice. In short, focus on your GCSEs for now, but consider taking a practice test in the summer to see where you're starting from if you're really keen. Then I would do some practice at the beginning of year 12, and if your school offers help, then take advantage of it. Then you'll have to prioritise year 12 exams above everything else, but after they're done, I would start properly preparing and be consistent all through summer. Then again, all this depends on how committed you are and how much practice you think you'll need.

Concentrate on your mocks/predicted grades in y12, but as mat/tmua are based on maths as, you could do a soft start ~easter in y12 and ramp it up over the summer. That may change a bit if youre doing the jan tmua in y13. Similarly step (2?) is at the end of y13 and is based on maths a level + further maths as, so it doesnt make a lot of sense to hit it hard before youve covered the material.
