Open Days at University of Glasgow
Hi, I’m Anoosha, a current MSc Earth Futures student at the University of Glasgow and also completed my undergraduate degree in Geography here. I know how overwhelming it can feel choosing a university, which is why I really recommend coming along to an Open Day if you can. It really helps bring everything to life.
The University of Glasgow’s next Open Days are June 19th, September 3rd, and October 18th, and they’re such a great opportunity to get a feel for what life here is really like, both academically and socially. You’ll be able to chat to lecturers, attend subject talks, explore campus facilities like the library, labs, housing, and sports complex, and ask current students any questions you might have about courses, living in Glasgow, or student life in general.
When I came to visit the campus for the first time, I instantly felt at home in Glasgow. The historic buildings are genuinely stunning, but what really stood out to me was how friendly and open everyone is. It’s a beautiful, vibrant place to study, especially in the West End, where the uni is based. We’ve got everything from indie cafes and bookshops to green spaces like Kelvingrove Park and the Botanic Gardens right on our doorstep.
Whether you're into music, nature, history, or nightlife (or all of the above!), Glasgow has something for everyone. And during Open Days, you get a real sense of how much support and flexibility UofG offers students, from academic options to wellbeing services.
If you're considering attending or applying, I can’t recommend coming to an Open Day enough. It’s the best way to picture yourself here, and I really think you’ll love it.
