Thank you so much
Some of interesting points from research:
-Research has shown that prolonged screen use contributes to digital eye strain, which is called computer vision syndrome
-We blink less staring at screen - this leads to dry and irritated eyes
-50% to 90% of people who use digital devices regularly experience some form of digital eye strain

Very fascinating!! Do you think that tools, whether external devices or softwares, such as blue light filters, matte screen protectors or blue light blocking glasses, will ever be efficient in reducing the strain of prolonged digital use?
Best of luck for your EpQ!

The answer is very difficult.
Most of the tools are gimmicks. Some help more, some less. Also it is very individual which tool will help and to what extent.
I personally prefer to treat Blue-cut lenses as medical filters and to sort them by the way they block and how much they block and what exact spectrum they block.... There are many different types actually.
As for other tools, most of them use the device settings so it has very little to do with the surrounding which also can have an impact on how you see/feel the blue-light.

I am trying to make an app that will have eye exercises guidance... So I am conducting this survey before the development just to know if this eye strain is actually a significant problem

As far as I have read, they are not very reliable(directly). But they could improve sleep quality, which indirectly improves our eye condition. The best thing to do is 20-20-20 rule. After 20 mins of phone use, you look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds..🤓

Interesting.
What exercises? How should the exercises work?
How should the app work?

Although I might sound sceptical, I'm not a standard optometrist, I do believe in natural eyesight improvement and I had some success myself. So I'm not against it, but I want to understand the more or less scientific approach of it.

That's super interesting!! Maybe keep this thread updated when you make more dents in this project, it sounds very very promising and I'd love to know more about it once it's done!

I'll definitely let y'all know ones it's done 🙂 it'll take a lot of time though(hopefully at least 90% before January next year cuz I am adding a lot of features [and i don't wanna give away too much to keep the suspense 😶*🌫️🤫] to it to make it engaging), but i won't forget to tell you one's it's done. Stay tuned. These comments are all really motivational to me. Im so grateful:smile:

The common exercises like eye movement, and eye blinking. The app will gamify them to encourage the user to do these exercises more and more.. i don't wanna give away too much info cuz i will keep them in suspense. But will definitely let you know as soon as the app is done

OK.
Don't you think that staying on the phone will not really help with the main goal of the app?!
I mean 20-20-20 method is one of the most effective one. Eye movement, blinking and palming are not really effective for screen damages... they are for other things though.

Anyways, it is interesting. Waiting to see the results.
