ok, to deal with the knots u can use a detangler or a pre-shampoo mix to comb your hair before washing. i suggest u deep condition your hair like once in two weeks for long term, that genuinely just made my hair softer and just easier to manage. also speaking from experience do not sleep with wet hair

Having a silk cap or pillow case doesn't hurt either, prevents knots when sleeping.

cut it and give it to me

You can get them from Boots (the cap anyway) for about a tenner but it's a good investment in the long run. The ones that are real silk have to be hand washed but my Boots one can just be machine washed. Also you can do your hair the night before eg. in plaits and tie it up in the thing, then wake up and not have to do your hair in the morning

my hair type is also straight and i used to have super long hair down to my hips, but the quality was rubbish so i got it cut to my waist a few months ago and its super healthy and shiney now. i would reccomend cutting off and dead parts first and i wash it every 2 days i would prefer not to but it gets kinda oily so i have to and i shampoo it super well and then just use hair mask, i leave it in while i shave or wtv instead of conditioner. hair oils like argon are pretty good for while ur hairs wet js make sure its ok to use while dry also other wise it could be the kind ur meant to wash out. using silk pillowcases personaly js helps it not get kind of fi=rizzy during the night bc i move a lot in my sleep and hairdrying while its good i find can kind of dull ur hair
hope this helps:heart:

I've experienced the same thing! Knots were the most bothersome thing about growing out my hair. I found that lightly brushing it from the ends first rather than the top helped. Using a small amount of conditioner and making sure to keep up with trims, even when growing it, also had a significant impact. Try loosely braiding your hair before bed if it tangles a lot at night; for me, this really helped to cut down on knots. It takes time to grow long hair, but you will eventually succeed.

plait at night and use a silk bonnet. and condition a lot. my sister had hip length 1a hair and that's what she did.

Or you could shave your head and have your hair attached to mine
