To where does the "here" in your thread title refer? If you mean the UK, then to which UK universities do you feel international students might apply, if they're nervous about the situation at Harvard? I'd say that there are relatively few which are in the same league (no pun intended) as Harvard. An "influx" generally does not seem likely.

(By the way, as it stands right now, a federal judge in Boston has issued a temporary restraining order to prevent the US government from revoking Harvard’s ability to host international students. A hearing on the matter is scheduled for 29th May.)

Every country is hoping that they will feel this 'bounce' in the number of International students as a result of Trump's bizarre behaviour - everywhere from Sweden to Hong Kong and trying to recruit. And lets face it, life for anyone 'foreign' in the States is going to be be very unpredictable and unstable while he continues to play these childish games, so we can only hope that lots of academics and students decide to abandon the States and head across the pond.

It is not a potential ban on international students that top universities around the world could most benefit from, it is the Trump regime eviscerating federal research grants that will leave some of the world’s top researchers unable to conduct research.

its not just over the event of the recent ban. Its also the overall mood in general. If your message to the rest of the world is a middle finger, people are not going to want to go.... except for those who are desperate enough.

The executive branch has a lot of tools in their arsenal if they are hell bent at reducing international students coming. Eventually one of them will stick.

Already there has been a successful court-challenge to Trump's ludicrous tariffs, and Harvard are also gearing-up to sue. Trump has assumed he has ultimate executive power, but the premiss of American democracy has always been that power will not rest in one person (to avoid replication of a monarchy) but in elected Congress. He will now spend time and money chugging all of this through the courts, and bitterly loose, blaming everyone but himself (all those 'bad people'). Its like watching a 13 year old on work-experience,

Evening Standard this morning :
"Taking to Truth Social overnight, he posted a couple of memes including one showing a billboard displaying his image, with the message: “President Trump was right about everything.”"

Deluded, narcissistic, and surrounded by sycophants.

When you say, "If your message to the rest of the world is a middle finger" are you suggesting that Harvard is giving the middle finger? Or Trump?
