EPQ help

Hello,
I'm nearing my EPQ deadline (13th June) and am just struggling with the end of my project. I'm coming up to 4,000 words so will get that done in time. Just wondering if anyone has any tips to bump up the grade, whether that's within the essay or in the planning/production log. My school hasn't been very helpful with any of this so just looking for some support near the end!

Hi there,

Congratulations on approaching the end of the project! It will feel like such a relief when it's all finished and handed in and it's definitely something to be proud of.

I completed an EPQ alongside my A levels and I found that having a clear focus throughout the essay really helped as the marker noted how on topic the essay was. It can be easy to lose track in 5,000 words, so make sure you have key sentences linking back to your overall topic to show the marker that you aren't going off track.

In terms of the production log, I would recommend documenting as much as you possible can. I noted down weeks where I wasn't so productive and why that was. Having weekly reflections was also noted as a strength as it demonstrated those key skills in planning and reflecting which will help gain you marks.

The main thing to focus on just before handing in the project is ensuring everything is there and you have proofread all of the documents you are submitting. It may seem like an obvious thing but if you don't have everything you need, you cannot achieve top marks.

I hope this helps and good luck with finishing off your EPQ!
