3rd alevel choice

I would like to study law preferably at a russel group uni but im not sure what to do for my 3rd alevel. Im currently set on doing maths and history but am struggling to pick a 3rd. Is law a good idea? Ive heard unis arent really a fan of it…. Any suggestions would be appreciated

If you are hoping to go to a Russel Group it's important to take a subject you know you'll do well in - maybe take a look at some unis that you are interested in 'preferred subject' lists and decide from there. It's true that there's no favour for A-Level law at degree level but it doesn't mean you shouldn't pick it if you like it.

Another essay based subject such as economics or english literature are definitely preferred and better respected

English lit, econ, politics, philosophy and to a lesser extent geography are the most respected ones. Personally I wouldn't recommend sociology or psychology as they are less well-regarded

I mean econ is basically a mix of history, human geography and maths - you're doing maths and history already which suggests you'd be good at it because its both maths and essay based
