Liverpool Hope Society of the Week - Taylor Swift Society

Hey everyone,

As you may know, Hope SU run a wide range of sports teams and societies! To give you an idea about what some of our societies get up to, we'll be sharing an insight into one society at a time.

This week we'll be talking about... The Taylor Swift Society!:smile:

Lovingly nicknamed SwiftSoc, Hope SU's Taylor Swift Society was started by group of third year students (including me!) in 2022 and is going strong to this day.

This is one of our more casual societies. Unlike some sports or activities based societies, you don't have to attend regular meetings or work towards a final goal. They usually get the highest number of sign ups, but not every person comes to every event.

Some examples of meet-ups they've run in the past include bigger events like an album release party in an external venue, and more lowkey get-togethers like an on-campus film night or friendship bracelet making (for the Eras Tour of course!).

Whether you're a casual enjoyer or a hardcore swiftie, this society has been a great way for students to meet new people and enjoy fun, pressure-free activities.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Ella :smile:

@LHU_Ella

Sadly no Taylor Swift Society when I did my degree and masters, but this sounds amazing, well done!

Top Taylor classics for me are;

1.

The Lakes

2.

Cruel Summer

3.

Don't Blame Me

4.

Shake It Off

5.

Seven

I've worked in higher education for over 10 years, and I can let you into a secret, the overwhelming view of academics is that 'Red' (Taylor's Version) has the best bonus track :smile:
