What are useful things to have on personal statement to pursue radiography?

I don't know where to begin. I have volunteered for college competitions but other than that I feel my personal statement is very lacking.

The purpose of your personal statement is to demonstrate your passion for the degree(s) you’re applying for, which you can achieve through doing activities that develop your understanding of radiography. These activities are called super curriculars and should be fun to do as you’re learning more about radiography

Here’s a few super curriculars you could do:
- Work/ volunteering experience in a radiology department (in person at a hospital)
- Reading about radiography (books, articles, podcasts)
- Virtual work experience, although there might not be many for specifically radiography (https://www.springpod.com/virtual-work-experience/work-experience-in-allied-health-north-east-and-yorkshire/WEXP-00296?queryID=47181f7f9e482f02a8f3680415c40f65&pos=1&fromUrl=%2Fvirtual-work-experience%2Fsearch%3Fq%3DRadiography)
- Other online courses, webinars (https://www.springpod.com/subject-spotlights/university-of-plymouth/diagnostic-radiography/SS-00402)
- Attending lectures about (or relating to) radiography
- Research projects (like an EPQ, Crest Award, or just something you do for fun)
- Competitions
- University access programmes (summer schools, taster sessions)
- Anything else which relates to radiography, or even healthcare in general

Don’t worry as most students prioritise doing super curriculars over Year 12 summer, so this is the perfect time to start thinking about it

You’ll have until January 2026 to submit your UCAS application (unless you apply to an Oxbridge, Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary course).

Personal statement wise it would be helpful to research care-based versus non-care-based degrees, as I believe radiography would count as care-based because you’re working with patients.
