Is doing AQA Level 2 Further Maths worth it?

Hi,
I am doing Edexcel GCSE Maths and I am also going to sit OCR Additional Maths.

I have been offered to sit AQA Level 2 Further Maths and I am wondering if it is worth it?
Is it equivalent to a gcse? How will ucas view it as etc.
Thanks!

AQA L2 Further Maths is basically GCSE further maths and I don’t think it’s very different to OCR Additional Maths.

Has your school told you why they have offered you both? Are they telling you that you can either do OCR or Edexcel, or that you have the option to do both? If it’s the option to do both, I don’t think it’s necessary.

AQA Level 2 Further Maths does basically nothing in the long-term haha (speaking as a taker myself). Especially if you're doing OCR Additional Maths, it feels like there's no need to? Feels like excessive work for nothing. Unless you have a real passion and penchant for doing maths I would just recommend not taking up the offer for some free time for yourself. Best wishes!

If you're not doing OCR Add Maths, AQA Level 2 Further Maths is mega useful if you decide to take maths or further maths at A level. You'll find that half of the year 1 normal maths textbook is basically an extension of the further maths GCSE.

My school gave me the option to sit both exams (I think so that I could get an 'extra' grade?).
I have decided to only sit Add Maths though 🙂
