Lancaster and Durham for natural sciences and St Andrews for bio

I'm really struggling to decide between unis right now. I've got conditionals for Durham and Lancaster (3 As and 2 As at advanced higher) and the unconditional to St Andrews. I think I'm going to put St Andrews as my insurance choice, but I'm not sure which to put as my firm. I'm not too confident on how my exams went, but I think they went pretty decently. I want to keep dancing and playing in orchestra, but I think that's an option everywhere. I'd appreciate any advice

Which course do you prefer? Compare the modules and optional modules for all years of the course and think about what you choose if you went to that uni. Do any of your choices offer a placement year or study abroad, as these can add a lot to your graduate CV?

Hi @swimmingunicorn

Firstly congrats! They are all really good unis and I'm sure you'll have a great time at whatever uni you choose. Lancaster Uni has a music society that does orchestra performances I believe and we also have a dance society! You can ask a natural science student about their course at Lancaster here https://www.lancaster.ac.uk/study/chat/?popcardRedirectData=P2RlZ3JlZT01ZGRiZGFjM2I2MTczMTAyMWE4OTJhOGImbGFiZWw9QmlvbWVkaWNhbCUyMFNjaWVuY2U%3D&ub_medium=product&ub_source=University%20Popcard&ub_campaign=&ub_content=
If you didn't visit the unis in person eg on a open day or offer holder day I'd recommend arranging to go see them in person. You really get a feel of the uni!

Hope that helps,
Rachel -Lancaster Uni Student Ambassador

Which options within Natural Sciences are you wanting to study? My son firmed Durham and insured Lancaster looking at astrophysics/geology strands and both were quite similar courses so for him the deciding factor became the location (he loved that it was small and all walkable with historic buildings and the river all on his doorstep) and he just felt Durham was right for him. Lancaster had all that too but a vus ride away. I really liked the smaller course sizes and the more personal feel of the student academic support of the Lancaster course though. They are both great courses and Uni's so I can see why its a tough decision
