SCOTGEM medicine

Hey, I am currently still deciding what university offer to take and I just had a few questions about the course and wondered if any students currently doing SCOTGEM or anyone else could answer them.
I am 21 and coming from St.Georges university in London, all medicine based courses, so am quite adjusted to that life. St.Georges is very small and a tight knit community and I have loved that aspect of it, I was on the university netball team which was a massive part of my experience. Moving to St.Andrews will be a big adjustment for me and so I wanted to get a full understanding.
When you are on placement outside of St.Andrews (not in the highlands or Dumfries and Galloway) Do you need to find your own accommodation whilst still paying for your house in St.Andrews/Dundee?
How much opportunity do you get to join sports teams and socialise?
Is the 1-1 teaching on placements worth feeling lonely when you are far away from home?
I want to do emergency medicine in the Army, does this course have much of this opportunity and background or is it mainly GP practices (the course says generalised medicine)?
What is the teaching like in second and third year? Do you do lecture blocks back at home or are your lectures via online from wherever you do your placement?
I would really appreciate if someone could answer these or point me in the write direction on who to ask.
