Am I qualified to be a Psychology Assistant?

Hi guys,

I'm looking to get a psychology assistant position once I complete my psych undergrad degree, everyone tells me how competitive these roles are and its really putting me off. With the experience I have (list below) do you think this is enough to start applying once I get my degree next year? For reference, I want to work in brain injury/neuro rehab.

Clinical experience:
- 1 month Clinical Neuropsych shadowing.
-1 month Honorary Psych assistant
-10 months (and counting) community hub volunteer at a brain injury charity.

Research experience
-1 month research assistant and co-author of published psych research study.
- 4 months Education assistant collecting assessment data.
- 1 month research internship

Education
-BPS accredited 1:1 predicted psychology undergrad.
-1 year BPS student ambassador.

I have been told that support worker roles would boost my application however I am not really comfortable with doing personal care so am open to alternative roles.

I think it’s very possible! My friend only has her A level qualifications and is currently working as a psych assistant.
