Body anxiety on holiday

So I am going on holiday to Thailand with some friends in December, which I am looking forward to. We are staying in a hotel close to the beach and I would love to have a swim in the sea or in one of the hotel pools.

The issue for me is I am VERY self concious about my body. I have not swam in public for years due to the fact that I have many prominent moles on my torso and my back, I know as soon as I take my shirt off to jump into the water i will feel like the whole world is watching me as I am surrounded by all the tanned beach bodies that are bound to be around me.

I guess the options I have are to have some of the more prominent ones removed (which may not be feasable due to cost and i dont want to go through it) ... or to try and simply tell myself to not really care about what anyone else thinks (easier said than done).

I just wish this wasnt an issue like it isnt for most people.

Any advice on how to get over this issue?

Thanks

Coming from someone who has a boyfriend with moles everywhere, I think they’re beautiful! I’m not sure how much it helps to have a stranger on the internet tell you that but my boyfriend’s moles are so unique and I absolutely adore them. I have no doubt that I would feel the same for yours. Think about how your moles make you unique to yourself, and if people are having fun at the beach they probably aren’t even thinking about anyone else!

If it helps, I have never even noticed whether someone has moles or not when at the beach/pool. People are too preoccupied with their own bodies to care about yours. You could, however, wear a rash vest? Just tell people you don't want to burn and no one will bat an eye lid.

Thanks, i think it does help to get other peoples perspective, as it can be so easy to get caught up in your own feelings.
I just dont want to let my own insecurities get the better of me, i want to fully enjoy it. I know i'll get the feeling that everyone is looking at me but i'll just have to somehow try and block that out.
