UEA course

Hey I’m predicted AAC for my a levels .. but my course at UEA requires AAB. If I don’t get the grades will I not get a place on the course ???

you probably will, theyre known for accepting grades lower than the offer but it depends on the course. Theres a tab on UCAS that lets you look at the most commonly accepted grades for the course you could check out

Aww thank you. I did look on there and the most accepted grade was CCC. But I’m quite hesitant to trust that

I think it's based on what actual past applicants have achieved so should be accurate. I know someone who lectures at the UEA as well and they often say that the real requirement is lower than the advertised one.

It does take into account contextual offers though btw

Hi @Rianna_1106, definitely worth speaking to admissions about this! Here's their email: https://www.uea.ac.uk/study/enquiries

For me personally, I spoke with a member of admissions at UEA's open day. I needed AAB but was predicted ABB/BBB - something like that. They were really kind and assured me if I didn't get the grades for my desired course (psychology with a placement year) then I would automatically be dropped down to an alternative (psychology) which had lower grades. This was so reassuring to hear and they also mentioned I could try again for the placement year course once I was at UEA if my first-year grades were high enough.

However, that was a few years ago and just for my psychology course, so definitely get in touch with them! In the meantime let me know if you have any more questions about UEA 😊
