DMU Pharmacy contextual offer

A contextual offer for pharmacy is 104 UCAS points, but that is the extent of the detail. Would I still need a B in 2 sciences as you need in the conditional offer? I've picked DMU as my firm, but I am only now just realising that it is never stated. I do not think I will get a B in chemistry, perhaps not even biology. My other subject is geography which I usually get As in.

In the offer letter, it says some grade requirements in the original UCAS offer may still be true, but it never stated which. If I still need 2 B's anyways, the contextual offer really isn't doing anything for me, and I may as well have picked a different uni with grades more acheivable.

What are the offer conditions stated in your conditional offer within UCAS hub. Those are the only conditions which count.

Try Kingston's foundation mpharm course - it's 80-88 ucas points on clearing day if you do really bad

But in my offer letter it says the opposite?

Wdym? Usually in UCAS it'll say 'you need CCC' or sum which is the minimum grade line for you, not others but you (others may ofc have the same grade boundary)

Are you saying that your offer letter (which is presumably in the form of an email) says, "Ignore what's in UCAS Hub, that's all nonsense. Your real conditions are below..."?

If so, call the uni immediately to get some clarification. Universities are required by UCAS to provide clear offers. (To quote UCAS themselves, "All offer conditions must be clear, unambiguous, and within an applicant's control to meet.")

Yeah that's essentially what the offer letter is saying which is confusing me. I'll call the uni, thank you

Hi there!

Hope you are doing well. Congratulations on your Pharmacy offer 💥!

The entry criteria for Pharmacy are very competitive as it is quite a popular course with limited spaces, therefore, the Admissions Team will require you to meet the subject specific criteria with the reduced UCAS points, specifically around Chemistry. For the remaining subjects, you can get a lower grade as long as it adds up to 104 UCAS points.

However, that being said, they consider it on case by case basis, so there is still a chance if you get lower grades in Chem as there are loads of other factors taken into consideration such as spaces being available, overall grade achieved, your interview, etc. So, I will definitely recommend calling us on result day if your grades are lower (which fingers crossed they are not), so that we could explore options with you.

I hope this clarifies, however, if you have any questions, please do respond back.

I wish you all the very best for your results and further application steps 😇.

Best,
Swarda, De Montfort University Rep 😊
