Studying Dentistry abroad or in the UK

Hi there I am unsure of studying Dentistry abroad. I have researched around and originally wanted to go to Georgia due to affordability but after finding out that they aren’t exempt from the ORE exam I was thinking of going to Bulgaria or any other EU uni.

The thing is funds aren’t the best and I may need to take a year or two out of studies to work to pay for uni.

The other option is to resit my A level chemistry where I originally achieved a C in 2021. I studied Maths, Chemistry and Physics and achieved grades of A, C, C respectively.

In addition to this I will need to take biology and study As and A level in 1 year alongside studying chemistry again to achieve AA in order to have a chance of studying dentistry in an UK university. I would also have to do the UCAT exam which can be difficult and a time waste if I don’t get a high enough score.

Could someone please give me some advice I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Consider applying to UMF Craiova. They have significantly lower entry requirements for A-levels, and you might be accepted with your current grades. The tuition fees are lower compared to other universities, and the quality of teaching is excellent. I'm currently studying there myself.

The ORE exemption for EU Country graduates is only until 2028 as it was extended in 2023 for 5 years due to Covid. Post 2028 it's likely that ALL dentistry graduates will need to do the ORE including UK students. My daughter is studying Dentistry at BAU Batumi in Georgia. Very good location and Muslim friendly. Much cheaper than other Countries. There was a backlog of ORE examination spaces due to the suspension during Covid. However, there are more spaces available now and this will only increase over the years. There is no guarantee that you will be exempt from ORE if you study in Bulgaria, Croatia etc. Good luck. Contact me should you need any information regarding Batumi. I used an agent and paid them over £2000 for no real advantage. You don't need an agent.
